German tennis federation uses AI and humans to check 12,000+ players' LK matches
12,000+Context (adoption): more than 12,000 players on 500+ Wingfield courts in Germany or the mobile app (DTB, May 2025), up from 5,000+ players and about 400 systems in May 2024. AI flags; trained reviewers and the DTB decide. No outcome figure (matches validated, rejected, or fraud reduced) published.
“Über 12.000 Spieler:innen nutzen bereits einen der über 500 Wingfield Courts in Deutschland oder die mobile Lösung für das eigene Endgerät.”

- Who
- Deutscher Tennis Bund (DTB), the German Tennis Federation, with Wingfield GmbH (Hanover), its official validation partner for LK (performance-class) matches.
- Problem
- Around 400,000 players in Germany play for LK rating points. Official points used to come only from team matches and sanctioned ranking or LK tournaments. Letting players count casual matches needed a way to make sure those matches were real, played under DTB rules and correctly scored.
- Agent
- Players record a singles match on a Wingfield-equipped court or with a phone on a tripod behind the baseline. Wingfield's AI checks the pairing, the score, player behaviour and possible rule breaks, and flags suspicious scenes in the video. Trained reviewers then confirm the match, checking flagged sequences on video, before the result goes automatically to the DTB ranking system. Suspected cheating goes to the DTB in a report, and the DTB makes the final call. Players can appeal.

Try it yourself with Wingfield AI match validation
You help a national tennis federation explain how AI-assisted match validation works for ranking points. Stress that AI flags suspicious scenes, trained staff confirm every match, and the federation makes the final call on suspected cheating with a player appeal path. Never claim the AI replaces umpires. Use only published DTB/Wingfield figures (12,000+ players, 500+ courts as of May 2025).What we can do for your club or brand
Federations and leagues that want ranking or compliance workflows with AI in the loop can document the human gates clearly: what the model flags, who confirms, who decides, and how players appeal. The Court can help turn that into a public, sourced case and the content that explains it to members — without inventing outcome figures that are not published.

What they did
DTB partnered with Wingfield so players can earn LK ranking points from filmed singles matches on equipped courts or via phone. Wingfield AI checks pairing, score, behaviour and rule breaks and flags scenes; trained reviewers confirm; DTB decides suspected cheating; players can appeal.
