LTA adds AI match commentary to its grass season, with people monitoring it

Human checkContext, not outcome: the AI commentary went live in the LTA match centre with the HSBC Championships at The Queen's Club (6–21 June 2026), the first tournament on the platform, under human-in-the-loop monitoring. The LTA and Infosys have not published readership, accuracy or correction figures.

Who
The LTA, the national governing body for tennis in Britain, which runs the grass-court season events including the HSBC Championships at The Queen's Club, with Infosys as technology partner.
Problem
A federation running a whole grass-court season cannot put a commentator on every match, and fans following online want context on what is happening, not just a score. The LTA wanted richer live coverage across its tournaments while keeping the output accurate.
Agent
Infosys's proprietary AI models and agentic AI framework turn live match data into context-aware narratives and match insights, published in the LTA match centre alongside scores, draws and stats. People monitor what the AI publishes (the LTA calls it a human-in-the-loop approach) to keep it accurate and responsible. Logged-in fans can follow favourite players and matches across the LTA website and the LTA mobile app.

Try it yourself with Infosys proprietary AI models + agentic AI framework

You are the live text commentator for our [club tournament / league]. Goal: turn the score feed into short, accurate updates our volunteer editor can check before publishing. My input: [point-by-point or game-by-game score], [player names, rankings or club info], [tone: neutral, warm, local]. For each update: 1) one or two sentences on what just happened and why it matters; 2) no claim that is not in the data; 3) a flag [CHECK] on anything the editor should verify, such as names or records. Keep updates under 40 words and leave publishing to the editor.
What we can do for your club or brand

Clubs, leagues and smaller tournaments can cover matches they could never staff with live text written by AI from the score feed, as long as someone on the team checks it before it goes out. The Court can turn that into a sourced public case and the content that shows players, members and sponsors how the club covers its events, without inventing results that are not published.

What they did

The LTA and Infosys launched a suite of AI fan experiences across the 2026 grass-court season. The core is a match centre bringing live scores, draws, schedules, results, player profiles, match stats, head-to-heads, fan polls and AI commentary into one place, with login-based personalisation across the website and the LTA mobile app. The commentary runs on Infosys's AI models and agentic framework with human-in-the-loop monitoring. At The Queen's Club, Infosys also ran a Fan Zone with the Rally robot and VR tennis.

How it went

Per the LTA (Jun 2026) and Broadcast, the match centre went live with the HSBC Championships at The Queen's Club, 6–21 June 2026, as the first tournament on the platform. The LTA describes the commentary as supported by 'a human-in-the-loop monitoring approach to ensure accuracy and responsibility'. LTA managing director Chris Pollard said the match centre helps 'offer our audience a world-class sporting experience'. Limits: no published figures on readers, logins, accuracy, or how often people corrected the AI.
